Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Vectra (“Vectra”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile applications, tracking hardware, and related services (the “Service”). It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

Vectra is a business-to-business tracking service. Our customers (for example rental operators and fleet owners) decide which assets to track and are responsible for notifying and obtaining consent from people who operate tracked assets, as required by law.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information. Name, email address, phone number, company details, and sign-in credentials (passwords are stored hashed; passkeys are stored as public keys only).
  • Device and location data. GPS position, speed, heading, altitude, battery and power status, and diagnostic events reported by tracking devices linked to your account, together with derived data such as trips, route history, and geofence events.
  • Billing information. Subscription and order history. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe — we never store full card numbers.
  • Usage and technical data. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications. Messages you send to support and notification preferences.

3. How we use information

  • Provide the Service: display live positions, store route history, evaluate geofences and alert rules, and send the notifications you configure.
  • Process subscriptions, orders, and payments.
  • Secure the Service: authentication, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and audit logging.
  • Support you and respond to requests.
  • Improve the Service, including analytics on feature usage and aggregated, de-identified reporting.
  • Send service and product communications; marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell location data.

4. Location data

Location data is the core of the Service and we treat it accordingly. Positions reported by your devices are visible only to your account, to teammates you add, and to people you explicitly share with (for example via share links you create and can revoke). Vectra personnel access location data only to operate and support the Service. If you stop your subscription, devices stop reporting, and stored history is deleted in the ordinary course after account closure.

5. How we share information

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Infrastructure. Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, and email delivery).
  • Maps. Mapbox (rendering maps; map tiles are requested based on the area you view).
  • Payments. Stripe (payment processing and billing).
  • Email. Transactional email providers used to deliver alerts, receipts, and sign-in codes.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics on our marketing pages.
  • Cellular connectivity. Network operators that provide the SIM connectivity inside tracking devices.

We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vectra or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this Policy continues to apply to previously collected data).

6. Cookies

We use necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) on marketing pages to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in.

7. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Location and route history are retained according to your plan’s history window and are deleted in the ordinary course after account closure, except where retention is required for legal, billing, or security purposes. Backups roll off on a fixed schedule.

8. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored data, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you as required by law.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. You can exercise these rights by emailing support@vectragps.com; we respond within the time required by applicable law. If you are an employee, renter, or driver of one of our customers, requests about tracking should also be directed to that customer, who controls the tracking of their assets.

10. Children

The Service is for business use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you use the Service from another region, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States under safeguards recognized by applicable law.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice before they take effect, and the “Last updated” date above will be revised.
